There is so much to like about the foundry. But, if I had to pick just one thing, I think that it is a Star Trek fan's dream come true. We have always been a very creative community. The foundry helps us express that creativity in a fun medium.
It is the perfect addition to Star Trek Online.
It opens up a portal of imagination into the Star Trek Universe that we have always wanted. It is the doorway that allows us to become a part of Star Trek's rich history and everything that it stands for. If STO allows us to participate in Star Trek, the foundry allows us to help shape it, to create it, to leave our mark on it in ways that only a handful of people have been able to do. The foundry and the imagination that it unleashes helps each and everyone of us go into space, that final frontier, where we can explore strange new worlds, meet new life and civilizations, and boldly go where no man has gone before.
It is the perfect addition to Star Trek Online.

What I like most about The Foundry is the potential it has to expand its tools and features through new update releases. I'm very excited about some of the things mentioned in the Foundry Roadmap. I feel that it currently has the most basic tools; but after a small learning curve, once you are familiar with them they feel quite intuitive to use. I've played some impressive things people have created, despite any limitations the Foundry may have at the moment.

The ease of use is one of the best features about The Foundry. I am not overly experienced with computers and I have no experience with 'modding' and little use of previous attempts at UGC tools. However The Foundry has a very gentle learning curve and I found the tools very simple to use. Within a short time I felt very confident using the tools and can now create complex missions within the Star Trek Universe. Many of the missions I have played by other authors feel as professional and as authentic as mission made by cryptic, which to me is very important.
