Starbase Featured Project #7

From time to time, special projects will become available for fleets. With these special projects you can unlock new features to give your starbase more crew, more customization, and more recognizable features from Star Trek! Be quick, though – when a special project becomes available, it will only be available for a limited time. You must start the project before the end of the feature. Once you’ve started the project, though, you can keep working on it until it’s finished, even if the special event ends – but remember, you can only work on one special project at a time, so you’ll want to finish quickly to make sure that you can work on the next special feature!
Our next special feature is, "Where Decisions Are Made". When discussing important matters with delegations and representatives visiting your Fleet Starbase, the location where the talks take place is vital to the success of the meeting. Klingons enjoy discussing topics over a round of Bloodwine in the Hunting Bar, while members of the Federation prefer a more formal conference room.
Upon completion of this special project, your starbase’s interior structure will be improved. Klingons will see improvements in the fireplace section of the bar, while the conference room will be enhanced for members of the Federation. This special project will be available around 10AM PDT on October 4, 2012, until around 10AM PDT on October 18, 2012.

Keep checking back to see what’s next on the special project list! We hope you are enjoying Season 6: Under Siege and we’ll see you in-game.

Question: What creature's skull is mounted on the Fireplace mantle between the Kry'stak Bat'leths. The hunting lodge look is perfect for a Klingon base
romulacaligula @ Oct 11th, 2012 5:01AM
These is great an elegant high tech titanium and cobalt alloy legged table with transparent aluminum top, suitable for Romulus high command military meetings regarding every fifth year mandatory decimation of Romulan troops. This is necessary to keep them at peak performance and strength

KDF one is totaly aewsome, the feddy one kinda sucks, the glass texture is very poor kudos to whoever made the KDF one.
sheppardt @ Oct 8th, 2012 10:47AM
I am a big sto fan and a 200 year veteran but hope that some of the refits includes starfleet starcrusiers like galaxy and some soverien ships have operational shuttle bays

These projects are great for the base and the game! But for new or small fleets trying to grind or buy dil, they are expensive! Even worse once your base gets to tier 2 all projects have dil increases, placing an additional strain on players to grind/purchase dil. In my case, I would like to see the reduction of the cost of these projects. As a small fleet, I watch some of my valued members leave to join bigger fleets due to the burden of the cost. I would love to see some projects without the dil or a reduced dil qty instead of the normal 200k, thus giving the fleet time to save and grind for the next task. But as a veteran of this game I would still like to express my thanks to the dev's for doing such a great job. Overall Well done.
lomax6996 @ Oct 6th, 2012 3:46PM
Well Done! The KDF upgrade is awesome (LOVE what you've done with the place heheheh) and the Fed side is... well... very "Federation" (ROFL). All in all an excellent job and I think the location of the Fed conference table is perfect. Making decisions in a glass bowl is VERY "Starfleet". Besides the KDF have had a conference table behind a glass wall from the beginning. As for the minor glitches I'm sure they'll get addressed PDQ. The glitch with the "History of the Enterprise" display was patched quicktime. This will be, too. Once again, overall an excellent creation... thanks, guys and gals!
clarontov @ Oct 6th, 2012 1:27PM
These all look cool, but how do I play?
fruitvendor12 @ Oct 5th, 2012 1:41PM
I'm happy to have it, but as a fed I note that great decisions are not made in a glass bowl for all to watch...
scottaprice @ Oct 5th, 2012 7:29AM
The Boxing Ring is next... lol
shaanithegreen @ Oct 4th, 2012 3:42PM
I've wanted a conferance room since they updated the ship interiors! Don't tell me it's not important, like 80% of Voyager happened in the conferance room.
kuwayuo @ Oct 4th, 2012 3:07PM
When we bean the star base project it a work in progress, i like the confence room and placing was ready placed. tribbles project few weeks back really has not improve maany times doffs kicking my tribble around on the kdf side i could see dances slave girls dancing 200k dil but much i could seen concept for the dilium i grinding daily at current maxium of 8k a day getting be very low.
irrapirthesecond @ Oct 4th, 2012 1:45PM
This is actually worth it. A conference room for the feds and a nice cozy fireplace with an actually lit fire for the kdf. In my opinion, here are the good stuff the feds and kdf got. Fed- Open blast shutters Bar improvements Enterprise panels Conference room. Kdf- Open blast shutters Targs Interior design Fireplace
robdmc @ Oct 4th, 2012 1:43PM
KDF are the big winners in this set of projects. The Whole room is brighter. Mantel Chairs Rug On the flip side: The federation project was meant to go there. What I like is that it fills the void in that glass room. Something needed to go there. It almost feels right. It also feels rushed. The biggest let down to me was the gold ships. They look out of place standing in front of them and they are not in a straight line They are also not on shelf's or hooks like on our ships in the mess hull. They are just floating there. Some are put with the nacelle in the wall. The deep space science vessel and the heavy escort models look like they have the phase device from ST:TNG Pegasus (Stuck in the wall). While the Miranda is a foot away from the wall. http://i.imgur.com/7ReTT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oOT5f.png http://i.imgur.com/bxSxA.png Also the table top is at your ankles when walking on it. I took the screen shots at an angle where the shiny glass top didn't wash out everything. http://i.imgur.com/fynHR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OJYax.jpg If you have to choose between the two get the kdf. If you have ocd and are irritated that the area is empty knowing there should be something in there the entire time then you will suffer after when you look at these ships. I am glad the space is filled though.

Agreed, the fed version does look slapdash, hurried, simplistic, and blown through QA (if any was done). But, hey, as long as there will be people with blinders on to the root of the problem and willing to suffice with this level of development, even pay cash for it, then I would not expect improvements. Regardless of whether it meets the value of 200K dilithium (which the fed version does not), it should still not look slapdash and sloppy. It does not matter if one or a hundred people contribute to it, the Fed project is not worth it on a simple quality level. On the flip side, it is nice to see the KDF get something nicer than the Feds.
usskeystone @ Oct 4th, 2012 10:26AM
I will miss the fleet meetings held around the bar or in the lounge of our flagship. :)
klaive0 @ Oct 4th, 2012 10:15AM
Love how almost every player here posting has commented like they have to foot the whole bill.... Its a fleet project , share the burden. Oh wait you are all probably in one of those 2-5 man fleets. sorry about your luck. We'll have it done somewhere within 10 secs to a couple of hours after it's Qued up.
mattjohnsonva @ Oct 4th, 2012 9:16AM
Nice one guys, finally we get a table. What the hell is wrong with all you freaking whiners. I bet you don't even play the game, probably SW fans that log into the STO forums to rant and rave, thanks god the vast majority of people are not like you miserable buggers, I've never heard such a bunch of whining QQing ungrateful impatient spoilt little brats in my life.....oh hang on, I have at the local nursery (kindagarten). If you don't like the game sod off and go whine somewhere else, nobody gives a flying targ flop what you think anyway, for god's sake you guys make me sick.
tinead51
A table... someones easily pleased. Get your homework done.
roboticzebra
Are you British? Because you sure pose/act like one. Pas me a crumpet eh? he says in a British accent.
mattjohnsonva
How did you guess? Yes I am lol
tinead51 @ Oct 4th, 2012 9:09AM
I've said it before and i'll say it again, ask the guy who cleans your offices for ideas,it cant be any worse than what your "Lead Content Designer" and his team are offering us. I believe the term you're looking for is "money for old rope".
bekstorm0cz @ Oct 4th, 2012 7:19AM
N0w this what I talking ab0ut, this is nice and cool: And actually first time I regret i em mostly U.F.P. players. But I em happy for our KDF brothers and sisters and whats ever multi genderal species they have in ranks
llyodstyles @ Oct 4th, 2012 7:05AM
What are you all complaining about? Dil grows on trees! Its everywhere! and if you don't want to spend that then don't spend it. simples. And there is no serious update because, if you actually read the posts, no major content will be delivered until S7(which is just around the corner.) The content for S6 was starbases, the content for S7 is something else, well actually it is quite a few things. So if you don't like it, don't do it!
markfalcone @ Oct 4th, 2012 5:31AM
Finally! The fireplace is being used! :-)
lordtrekkie @ Oct 4th, 2012 1:34AM
Please please please please something less than 200k dilithium?
rreuben @ Oct 4th, 2012 12:22AM
I have a tier 4 star base, its about time my council got a place to sit while I ramble on and on, I just wish for the price of 200k they would put a sliding door or something for those top secret meetings? But the projects do help bring the fleet together for a common goal, going full steam in tier 4 is no easy task, Thank you to the devs for doing a far better job then ever before.
barimanforums @ Oct 3rd, 2012 11:28PM
Only 6 chairs? That's going to leave a lot of people standing.
darkdeity20xx
First come first serve - the federation players might slug it out I would imagine ---- the Klingon's... well if you find yourself in a seat, you could use the bodies of your opponents as leg rests haha.
sciencekeeper @ Oct 3rd, 2012 10:52PM
I'm really loosing more and more fun in this game. The price for this projects are to high.
darkdeity20xx
I agree that the price is high - but I don't see why you would have to lose the "fun" of this game. You don't "need" this stuff, friend. Now the fact that you "want" it is a different thing all together - something you will have to take up with a mirror lol
mbomberdavid @ Oct 3rd, 2012 8:51PM
I got to admit this one does not exactly thrill me... the klingon side looks better. oh well, they cant all be winners...
darkdeity20xx
I agree with you in that observation, David. I don't have a Klingon player myself but I am happy to see the Devs "throw 'em a bone" if you catch my drift. Too often I hear complaints that the KDF side lacks content - this is probably true --- glad they get an awesome room to talk bad to each other =)
