Romulan Colony Adventure Zone

Tholian EV Suit
Life has been hard for the Romulans. Ever since the destruction of their home world, they have struggled to find their place in the galaxy. While some have decided the best course of action is to side with the militaristic and fanatical Tal Shiar, many realize they must look inward and repair what was lost before they can look across the galaxy with larger plans.
The first evidence of this new direction came via an alliance with the Remans, led by Obisek. Together with both the Federation and the Klingon Empire, they were able to stop Hakeev’s Tal Shiar forces and prevent potentially massive destruction. With larger threats temporarily subsided, the surviving Romulans and Remans began to search for a new place to call home.
And now, it seems, they’ve found it. Welcome to New Romulus, or Mol’Rihan in the traditional tongue.
As a member of the Federation or the Klingon Defense Force, you will be tasked with helping them establish their new home world in the form of a new Adventure Zone.
Is this Adventure Zone available to all players at all times?
The Romulan Colony Adventure Zone is always available to players who have reached Vice Admiral or Lieutenant General Rank, and bonus rewards will be awarded if played during special timeslots found on the hourly event calendar. To participate, players will travel to the Tau Dewa Sector Block and beam down with a single Bridge Officer to New Romulus where a variety of missions await them.
How does an Adventure Zone work?
Different regions of the zone will have daily missions that can be completed to help the Romulans and Remans colonize the planet. A Reman or Romulan officer is stationed in each of the areas, offering a different daily mission. Each mission has a variety of ways it can be completed and it’s up to you how you’d like to help. You can choose combat options or collection options as listed by that area’s mission. Each element you or your team chooses to do advances an overall tracker that completes when it reaches 100%. There are also special events that periodically take place in the various areas; participating in those events also count towards overall mission progression.

An Infant Nanov
What do I get for completing these missions?
By completing these tasks, you earn Romulan Marks for use in the new Reputation system which awards new special rewards and gear, as well as increasing your reputation with the Romulans (look for another Dev Blog on this system in the near future). You will also unlock story elements that explain the history and potential future of New Romulus.
What else can I do in this adventure zone?
As you advance in the reputation system, special instances will unlock that can be done with more of your bridge officers or other players. There are also additional daily missions that will help teach you the map and learn additional planetary and cultural lore.
The Romulans and Remans need your help! Will you answer the call?
We can’t wait for you to adventure on New Romulus when it launches with Season 7! We’ll see you in-game.

i don't mind helpin the roms but only if they let the federation use cloaks on more ships or all.lol its only fair
shpoks
I sincerely hope it will never come to that, I for one like that the Fed. ships don't have cloak
moobucket
I do mind helping the backstabbing fashion disasters. And I think that not cloaking is more honorable than hiding and running away like a coward.

Apparently a few ppl still stuck in the Old Star Trek where the Klingons were notorious for their raiding but as the time progressed they did become allies with a few rebels along the way that refused to side with the Federation, same with the Romulans. Sounds like a few ppl need to brush on their information been watching and following Star Trek since before some of you were probably born (not the reruns) till they became reruns still like watching the Original StarTrek before they made it Political correct with their opening dialogue where it used to be Where No Man has gone before to the Where No One has gone before. So brush up on the information folks then Play your "Rebel Yell" song and play on.:)
captaindallas @ Oct 16th, 2012 8:26AM
No they will remove Encrypted Data Chips and replace it with Romulan Marks. All current loot you get from the STFs. Like rare borg salvage, proto borg salvage, edc, rare borg shield tech, etc. Will be removed as final loot and putted into Reputation system. What will happen with the items, credits that you have stored in your inventory? will they be 'exchanged' and if so, will that incur some form of 'reduced' exchange?
ahilles7
If you mean items like STF gear they will remain on your character or inventory. Credits, what kind of credits?.Didn't understanded what did you mean by credits? Where you thinking of EC?
grtiggy @ Oct 16th, 2012 8:08AM

captaind3 @ Oct 16th, 2012 8:06AM
Sounds fantastic. I especially like an alternate way to get my Reman Set completed. Romulan Marks. Sounds good. I'm really looking forward to it, especially this adventure style sounds like less combat and more building an exploring. If so, will we be seeing more of this elsewhere? I like what I'm hearing here.
flyingcatman @ Oct 16th, 2012 7:34AM
To anybody who's worried about "currency overload", they're turning all of the Borg Salvage, EDC's, etc. you get from STF's and replacing them with Omega Fleet Reputation Marks. All of the Romulan Data Logs you get from the Vault Shuttle Event will be turned into Romulan Reputation Marks (which you will also get for these Romulan missions, of course). This will all be much easier to track and store. You won't have anything cluttering up your inventory anymore and it will likely look very similar to the fleet mark thing in your currency tab of the inventory. There may be some grind involved, but it doesn't sound all that bad, especially when we get Romulans and Remans to play with :D
specter300 @ Oct 16th, 2012 7:30AM
Well I for one dont mind some grinding, but as long as this "New courrency" will simplfy a little I'll be happy. BUT, i would like to see a way to ues my Stock pile of EDC's and such for a short time longer than Nov as others logging on who (don't have the time to be on all of the time) will need a way to spend it. And Dont Give the BS "Sucks to be them" if it was you you'd be pissed too.
darkdeity20xx
If I was "them"... although I might be "pissed," my complaints would be a little less public --- it was my decision to be one of "them" afterall (hypothetically speaking haha)

Why would the Klingons help the Romulans in any way?
towani
because if the Klingons didn't, then all the Klingon players would complain there is no new content for them ;)
elvenaar
Yup like towani says, it is unlikel the Klingons would help the Romulans in any way, but the Klingon players would coplain so they had to do this. They could've however made it so the Klingons would be running raiding runs on the Romulans instead of helping them, but I guess that was too battle minded and they didn't like it.
lordmogra
Battle minded? No, it would force them to actually make different sets of content for each faction. Can't have that! It's too much work. :D

The initial look of the romulan colony planet may be a disapointment to some, but if this leads to the romulans becomming a playable faction i will definately grind away.

I love new content, story lines, and new updated gear and abilities! I do worry that the currencies will start to get out of control again by having too many types. A while back they said they were going to simplify the currency system. Seems like they got rid of the old ones now to just introduce new ones. We have Energy Credits, Dilithium, Zen, Lobi Crystals, Fleet Credits, Encrypted Data Chips, Fleet Marks, Gold-Pressed Latinum, and now it sounds like we will a have a new one coming. Not to mention: Common, Rare,

I don't care for Lockboxes, but new gear is always great!! This is Planets, and not the Earth, so soon I think it would be wise to have a window of just currencies from all different races that can be popped up and put the "Particle Data" in a pack, that only takes one space in the bank!! More worlds = more crap
