Linking Your Accounts

Hello Captains!
We've just launched the new Star Trek Online website, and we're sure you have questions. Below you will find our FAQ on Account Linking, as well as important information about this change. Also, please bookmark this link as we will also be updating it as more questions come up.
Account Linking FAQ
How do I link my accounts?
Navigate to https://my.perfectworld.com/sto and login. This will take you through the linking flow. Be sure to select the correct radio button for your account type.
Why are we linking accounts?
By linking your Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic accounts, you will enjoy a more streamlined process in accessing your information and logging into your favorite games. Doing so will also allow the friends you play with to find you more easily in other titles.
How do I purchase ZEN?
Navigate to our billing page at https://billing.perfectworld.com/charge. You'll be able to purchase ZEN in a number of ways, including prepaid ZEN cards, credit cards and PayPal.
How do I transfer ZEN to a server?
When you buy ZEN, it gets added to your wallet, which you can view at https://billing.perfectworld.com/mywallet. From there, you'll be able to select which game, then which server you want to transfer ZEN to.
What if I don't want to link?
Account linking will soon be non-optional. If you have a Cryptic account and link now, you can claim a special item in Star Trek Online. Also, the sooner you link, the better chance you have of getting your preferred account name and display name.
What about my Cryptic Points?
Cryptic points currently on your account will remain on your account – you won't lose them, but you can only use them in Star Trek Online or Champions Online. Once you've linked your account, you can take advantage of the many payment options to purchase Zen.
What if I don't have a PWE account?
The linking flow will walk you through creating one. Chances are, we've even reserved your account name and @handle.
What if I don't have a Cryptic account?
That's okay. When you login to the Star Trek Online or Champions Online website with your PWE account, we'll grant your account the proper credentials to play all Cryptic games. You won't have to do anything except maybe choose an @handle.
Why are the boxes red? It won't let me have my account name/@handle!
Couple things to check:
1. You can't have the same acount name and display name in the PWE system. If yours are the same, decide if you'd rather it be your login or your public name, and pick something else for the one you care less about.
2. If they're not the same, it's possible that one or the other is already taken in the PWE system, and you'll need to select something else.
It won't let me have my email address!
If it says your email address is already in the system, try recovering your PW login name and password here: https://register.perfectworld.com/account/forgotid.
What are the Privacy and Data Protection Policies?
The protection of your privacy and personal information is very important to us. Please visit our Privacy Policy page to learn more about how we safeguard your account information.
But I only get 80 CP for every 100 Zen!
The Zen to CP conversion rate is the the same as the cash to CP conversion rate. Zen is $1 : 100 Zen. CP is $1 : 80 CP. You'll receive the same number of CP you always did for the same dollar price.

Okay so I linked accounts late last time and missed the promotion. But the account was linked. This time both accounts are linked and I was able to collect the item... purchase item for free. however the description of the item is blank and i did not receive any in-game bonus points/items. Please post a fix for this... TY!

I logged in to my PW account as stated,there is NO LINK to Cryptic!!!And an IQ of 300 is impossible,doesn't make a damn bit of difference if the link,as stated does not exsist!!! :P

Just Linked Accounts. Now I've logged in and found that all the equipment in the active ships of my captains has gone! Can I get it back?

What happened to my cryptic points???? I now have zero! This is not the first time this has happened either. I purchased some about 2 months ago and the amount I had already before the purchase disappeared! Would someone like to inform whats happening with this?

The link you list to take us to the page that will "take you through the linking flow" only links to the game's main page and has NOTHING listed to link accounts, and the news article about linking loops me to this page! WELL DONE!

Every codes you sent me are rarely invalid. So I need to ask you what happened. Could you send me information what to do to fix the problem before you will send me another invalid code

It is easy. First you need to register to PW than when you will enable STO starter and you will choose nick and password from PW the will ask you if you have cryptic account and than you choose yes and ok and after this you will received a comment and e-mail news about llinking

I can't enter game after linking accounts. I still have picture where I need to put code and If I wish to not display this I need to choose another option. Well all is ok but I am not receiving any code. I need to have it because submit not show up. Tell me are send me the code ?

ive had my pw and cryptic accounts linked for a month or two. had forgotten that i had the pw account when i made my sto character and just made a cryptic account and linked the two for my own convenience.the way i see it anything that goes wrong can be handled by the 1 email address for all of em. although i havent played PW in years

This is stuiped! I lost my account/display name because I was out of town and I think its having problems with me having a crypitc account. I've had the same SN for 10 years on everything I've had online and never had a problem with someone having my name!

Let's say this... i've been playing the game for quite a while... things were promised and never delivered... thnigs were done without considering the users, such as changing passwords and now i know someone that cannot access their account because the game was linked to an email that had been locked by the email host and and customer support on Cryptic and MSN were no help to him and he spent plenty of money on this account to not be able to use it... thats rediculous... He is a lifetime member and has spent a considerable amount of money on ships and other things... now i have tried to call cryptic and MSN directly for him because he is in the U.K. and Cannot make the call himself and he recieved not even an answer let alone any satisfaction... i hope PWE can settle the matter for him....

You guys make it like you never even used a computer before, the linking was simple for me sense I happen to be a fast learner. You guys make it, like it takes Rocket Science to do it. Sheesh

Also to add to my comment above without making a new one, It really does not take a IQ of 300 to link a account.

It's far from streamlined, it's complete shit. for instance, i can't even have the same login and display name, and my regular acc name was allready being used by the cryptic account so i had to pick an entierly diifferent one, so now it's a a friggen mess
