Let me get this straight, if I were to get the three pack, would I be able to apply the chevron separation, the aquarius destroyer and the worker bees?
siryphas @ Aug 9th, 2012 10:14AM
You do need a levl 5 tier ship yard to get the Generic Odyssey and the Bortas (the generic Bortasqu'). Then you need 200,000 Fleet creds and you're good to go.
oldjerseydevil
Hmmm... Probably not. Unless you've seen it somewhere since the start of season 6 I would advise against counting on it. I have the Odysee set and the "original" Odysee aquired from the mission on ESD during the two year aniversary of the game and you cannot use the consoles from the Z-store oddy's.
nad2359 @ Aug 9th, 2012 10:02AM
i wish that you could mount dual cannons on the Odyssey cruisers
astroviking @ Aug 7th, 2012 7:26AM
how long until we get MACO/omega force fighters with antiproton weapons? and you can get the standard odyssey mith fleet point when you join a fleet. it takes 200 points and theres no requirements

I would like the option to just buy original the Odyssey and the Bortasqu' before the 3 "class specific" types of the Odyssey and the Bortasqu' came out. Is that too much to ask for? Well, since neither of the original Odyssey or Bortasqu' are available in the C-Store, the answer clearly seems to be Yes.

Have you noticed the Oddysey or Bortasq in the Fleet Starbase ship list? I could be wrong as I have yet to check the stats but I think the original generic versions have been added right there. So you can get an Oddysey or Bortasq without the consoles that way?
kasmyn
200,000 Fleet credits and the originals can be yours. Listed in the fleet ships all the way at the end not sure if you need a certain tier of shipyard though
palpha2clearance @ Aug 6th, 2012 8:50AM
3 versions of the ship is ridiculous, they should of went to all universal commander slots as I have been suggesting forever for all tier 5 ship, with an additional universal commander slot unlock for joining a fleet for ground and space.
palpha2clearance @ Aug 6th, 2012 8:44AM
Price is to high, tested the ships on Tribble they are nice looking, but that is where it ends.....there consoles are great except they are exclusive to this ship, the ship turns like the titanic, I would not recommend these ships over the galaxy r or x. They need a Hella better turn rate because they fight like beached whales. Powerful if you can keep a target I front of you.....good luck on that though.
goaheadandsmoke @ Aug 6th, 2012 1:26AM
honestly who cares about spelling. i am in the military fast moveing armies always win the battle. look at our own revolution war. george washington armie starveing whomp the larger brits............ ne ways my escort whomps allmost all oddy it sees allso if done right the shield problem is easly fix with maco mark 12 set. i was just in a s.t.f and watch a oddesy die 3 times while i cleaned house. From a military stand point they are a waste. unless u trying to over compinsate for something. i would love to see a ship that has oddy potntial and the speed of a escort. balance now that ship i would buy. and the dreadnaught does suck too. just a over size target.... i stilll love the game and hope yall keep it running for a long time to come u have one loyal costumer here
jumpingjs
I am a lifer and buy zen regulury and play too much STO
leroy757
America lost 80 percent of the major battles in the revolution, they only won because the French cut off supplies to the British soldiers in America... Get your facts straight you idiot.
shimmerless @ Aug 5th, 2012 6:21PM
There isn't really anything wrong with the Ody, and in very high-level play you see a lot of 'em. The problem is with the players who have no idea what they're doing and don't care to learn before plonking down $50 for a ship. I've wailed on Odys that died with 3/4s shields at full because they didn't understand they had a distribute button (let alone Tac Team). Don't shoot the messenger, folks.
korikorya @ Aug 5th, 2012 11:03AM
Look if they want to waste 60$ on a set of ships and think their ships are crappy it's their right to whine.... hell i wish i still had my free one.... accidently deleted the original after the fleet academy.... oh well... I like big ships with slow turn rates myself.... enough cannons and you have the old homeworld Ion Beam Cannon set up lol besides what do you think a destroyer does... it pulls up on its side and fires all cannons at once... makes life easier go heavies
lynoman @ Aug 5th, 2012 11:01AM
Love the ships, they do what they say they will and it's easy to put some consoles in and make it turn better. I use beams and turrets, just like the others have pointed out doing it similar.
siryphas @ Aug 5th, 2012 9:07AM
All of the hate! I personally like these ships! Sure the turn rate is slow, but if you have the right equipment, you can have some serious strength! Right now I'm using the Bortasqu' War Cruiser, and I have yet to die (in non-pvp). With the Bird-of-Prey (which is pretty useful) and the right weapons and shields, my ship is the best one I've had by a long shot! I enjoy it more than the Caitian Atrox.
basilisk1979 @ Aug 5th, 2012 8:04AM
Still advertising little vanity gadgets instead of pushing out REAL content. And whats realy funny, the Oddysse class wasn't even designed by CBS or Cryptic, its player made. Its a nice ship and the Bortasqu as well, but thats about it. Its slow and clumsy in battle, has a negative to hit modifier (you're easier to hit an an Oddy or Bortasqu due to their size) and their consoles are theoreticaly nice but to weak to justify even one slot to be taken up by them.
jumpingjs @ Aug 5th, 2012 6:18AM
"Terning" is spelt "Turning" . Oh Hang on ... soo many errors. Anyway I think the odyssey is awsome. I mean why don't you criticize the dreadnought? Why don't you say "Oh it is rubbish has the same turning rate as the odyssey". I mean is all you guys want a spinal phaser lance? That is how I see it
pertune
i use the free version from the second year anaversiery and it rocks , as long as you have the right equipment , but yeah i agree with you all they want is the weak spinal lance and the cloaking device
koolteller @ Aug 5th, 2012 1:45AM
cause if it wasn't for the tos star trek online will not have been
jumpingjs
And if it was not for Roddenbury , no TOS!
koolteller @ Aug 5th, 2012 1:42AM
yeah the osdessdy may be a grate ship but it dose not rep the tos harts and soul their need to be a flag ship for that soul but as strong as the odessydy ship
hasukurobi @ Aug 4th, 2012 11:46PM
I own BOTH packs. Hate on that if you want to but I support buying SHIPS in STO not Lockboxes. With that firmly in mind I can say that the Odyssey is the more powerful of the two but both are excellent ships. Big hulking monsters like these NEED to be flown by a Tactical Captain. If you are not one then forget it. Why? Because only a Tactical Captain can make up for their lack of fire power, turn rate (a bit), and low Tactical BOFF slots. I can easily tank 2 fully loaded Escorts in my Odyssey and kill them back. So for those who say "But if it is not an Engineer the Cruiser will be too weak and die!" I say to you "The Cruiser is already a TANK. It does not need help being TOUGH what it NEEDS is help KILLING.". With that in mind I find the battle pets on both of these to be fairly throw-away. They both are neat in how they spawn and the HoH'SuS is beautifully aggressive which does prevent enemies from escaping sometimes; but both fail to impress on the ability to kill anything. Neither is likely to kill even a fighter let alone a real ship of any sort or even contribute noteworthy damage. The Saucer Separation is absolutely critical to the Odyssey. Drop that dead weight and you suddenly have a powerful ship that can outclass any other Cruiser and nearly compete with Escorts while surviving infinitely more punishment than they can. The Bortasqu' on the other hand just makes you FEEL invincible. It is BIG, it is gritty, it is Brutal. It is like an untamed Titan ready to unleash its world ending destruction upon all before it. I absolutely LOVE its feel and it fits the Burly and Unrelenting nature of the Klingons perfectly. Its Bridge is also, without question, THE most epic Bridge in the Game. So IF you are a Tactical Captain and IF you want a big ship that will tank all day long and pound things to dust then these two ships are well worth your investment. On the Fed side there is no better cruiser than the Odyssey it is flat-out the Flag Ship. On the Klingon Side there are some other contenders but the Bortasqu' is just such a wonderful beast to fly.
brokenmirror2012 @ Aug 4th, 2012 10:38PM
I bought the oddy pack, best ship is the sci oddy. which has the 2nd worst consol. 2nd best ship is the tact oddy, whihc has an equally useless consol, worst ship is the engineer oddy wich has the best consol. Worker bees are practicly useless seing as any AOE will instakill them, Aquarius is an NPC... it isnt smart, or high DPSed, Chevron makes the ship Viable to do DPS. the problem being it comes on the lowest dps of the 3... If your gonna buy teh oddy pack, if u want to do DPS, ull need to buy all 3 just saying!
rblaher988 @ Aug 4th, 2012 8:00PM
There's a lot of negative comments for people who CHOSE to buy these ships...
edwolf3d @ Aug 4th, 2012 6:50PM
spelling correction..but should be bought.
edwolf3d @ Aug 4th, 2012 6:49PM
And about the ships, but the Oddy pack and am satisfied with it, just wish I could use all the console at the same time.
chivalrybean
I use all three consoles at the same time every time I fly one of them.
starsider32485 @ Aug 4th, 2012 5:25PM
Speaking as a buyer of the full Odyssey pack here, I find the ship to be very nice, both in appearance and function. That said, there are a few minor complaints. As I said, I have the full pack, so naturally I make use of all three console abilities. Workbees are great, nice little repair ability that's come in handy very often, and its low cooldown means it can be used just as often. My main issues are with the two separation abilities. Individually they're a boon. Aquarius gives you an escort to help you take down enemy shields, Chevron sep not only gives you the saucer as a helper, but turns the stardrive into a heavy hitter, at the cost of endurance. My main problem is that they can't be used TOGETHER. You can only use chevron sep or deploy the Aquarius, not do both, which was majorly disappointing as it would have given the Odyssey a sort of pseudo-multivector assault mode which would have been awesome. Also, they seem to have a tendency to have a bug where they won't turn off (AKA the component in question stays deployed and won't reconnect). I'd really like to see a patch that allows those of us who shelled out the cash to get all three ships, to be able to use all three abilities at once. (And fix the reconnect bug too) Still, aside from these minor problems, I found the ship worth it.
mattjohnsonva
Totally agree. Now if the three consoles were passive functions and didn't take up console slots AND if the TAC Oddy had 1 more TAC console then and only then could it be called the Flagship. As it stands it is simply a nice looking cruiser that is average in all it does.
marman01 @ Aug 4th, 2012 3:37PM
these all look like good ships, i think when i have the time i'll buy them, gotta get some more Klingon ships, :D
xastirx @ Aug 4th, 2012 8:47AM
Any ship can be awesome, if you know how to use it. I have the anniversary oddy myself, and without those consoles, is practically useless in combat, as all it is is the starcruiser but the secondary engineering console is universal, and the price you pay for this is maneuverability. But in sector space, with certain engines has faster track times than any of my other ships with its longer lasting slip stream drive, and as such, when i switch the toons that use it to just doing doff chains, i use that ship.
