STO Joins Raptr

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, September 6th, STO players who have joined Raptr and linked their Facebook account will begin earning awesome in-game rewards as they move through the Raptr ranks. To celebrate this launch, Executive Producer Daniel Stahl will be answering player-submitted questions between 10AM and 6PM PDT tomorrow – visit this Raptr page to post your questions and watch for answers. Make sure to participate as Raptr will be giving away prizes to the best community questions received!

Raptr Rewards
Players ranked ‘Newbie’ or above will earn the Holodeck Bundle for one of their characters. It contains:
- Consumable item that grants 2,500 EXP
- Pack of 5000 Raw Dilithium
- Random Rare ‘Purple’ tiered weapon (space or ground)
- Pack of random ‘self’ dual consumables
- Pack of random ‘team’ dual consumables
Players ranked ‘Experienced’ or above will earn the Captain’s Critter pet for all existing and future characters – this pet is an exclusive non-combat Mugato named “Gumato”.
Once eligible for one of the above rewards, you will receive a notification from Raptr telling you to claim the reward. Once you claim a reward, you'll receive a window with a redemption code. To redeem your code, please:
1) Visit StarTrekOnline.com
2) Click the "Register/Login" link on the top-right of your browser and log in with your PWE account.
3) Once logged in, click the “My Account” link at the top of the Star Trek Online homepage.
4) Once in your “My Account” portal, click the “Redeem Key” link.
5) Enter the key you received from Raptr in the field and click “Submit”.
6) You can claim your Raptr rewards through the in-game C-Store, under the ‘Items’ tab.

HA! The problem here is that PW is a Asian based company who have been dealing with Asian players for years. They are completely out of touch with what American gamers want and need to be happy. It is simple STOP offering us worthless stuff for inflated prices. We don't care about 50 styles of clothes at 500 zen a pop. A nice uniform pack for a modest price is fine. We don't use face book to link our games. We don't always WANT people to know we are online and playing. We don't want spyware and malware on our gaming systems. We want cool enhanced stuff for decent prices. EXAMPLE: 700 zen for a combat EV suit that breaks our set and is average compared to the purple suits you get for free. I would pay if it was 1000 zen and could be used with my set and all future sets and have some unique quality that makes it worth a thousand zen. Instead of pawning off reskinned ships, why not give us new weapon packs with unique colored beams or match more TV episode suff. They always loved going to 20th Century Earth, how about a .45 side arm and a tommy gun that work great on borg and have no re-modulation needs it doesn't even need to do more than average damage. I would pay 500 zen for that. STOP with the gimmics and just give us good value extras for good value prices and we will pay it! STOP trying to screw us, figure out what your American markets want and just do that.... and you will make plenty of money. In case you misunderstood.... this Raptr offer is RETARDED

I think its awright they did giv me a monkey!I just wish id be able to do more like have my own worlds and stuff ingame!Its fun making foundry maps but i like more strategic controls too!!!

What it dosent say is that these rewards are STRICTLY limited. I have just achieved the 1st rank and was greeted with the "no rewards left" so now I dont get the dilithium etc. be wary

I don't use Facebook, and I never will, so this is completely useless to me. But even if they made the offer through other social networks that I use (like Google ), I still wouldn't be interested. This is just a silly idea, and yea, I don't like the idea of a program monitoring my game play, and the rewards aren't even that great. And to go a little off topic, STO needs to be more involved in the Google community, a lot of Trekkies prefer Google over Facebook.

just curious if this will go mandatory like the other did, which didnt effect much Zen/CP Conversion wise and Accounts, this...again becuase of FB, not so sure i like PW getting there without a choice, the decision to stay as Lifetime or get the heck away is tetering on that word, "Mandatory" and wether it is or not.

This sounds erriely similar to the "Chance for rewards" at the account link from Cryptic to PW. i had no problem with that. you already had Billing Info and such from P2P or buying Zen/CP for use in to Store, Raptr, not sure how that fits in, but for what sane other reason other then even more info is Facebook needed here, at all?

You intentionally broke XFire's ability to operate within your program! Just another thing to show you are out of touch with what gamers really want. I'll continue playing(every so often, maybe once a month) but lately your promotions make me yawn and roll my eyes.

Doing anything now just to keep people playing the game...God forbid Cryptic has a event or reward to hand out that same stuff themselves; gotta sell out Trek even more and have a 3rd party offer it. Stay classy Cryptic. BTW, gamer's use XFire. I wont be installing/linking anything to justify your lame rationales on why STO has to be a F2P/P2W theme park game.

I use Raptr to to display all my no life having activities. That's all it does. It tracks game play time, allows you to use instant messengers, browse the web put screenshots into a different folder. It's a game overlay much like steam and overwolf. You people are crying way too much over this. Also you have a chance to get some free stuff by playing a few hours of STO while raptr tracks it. I've used it for many games and gotten neat in game rewards for it. I don't see why people are so upset over this. They're not forcing you to use it. Just saying you can get a pet out of it. Don't want the pet? Don't use it. Simple.

Raptr is ABSOLUTE garbage. Sorry Cryptic I can see your reasoning behind teaming up with them but for what you get it isn't worth it. I am and will remain dedicated to STO for as long as you are keeping me entertained and making me enjoy playing, but you are offering an app which then tells you to link this or link that in order to use properly. Not only that when playing STO through Raptr game performance for me (and many others) seriously decreases. Good try Cryptic but I seriously don't think your assiciation with Raptr should continue.

I remember when PWE said that they would force their users to link their accounts to PWE in order to continue playing and if they didn't like it; they wouldn't be able to play it. Watch them force this piece of shit on us the same way. and if any mod has a problem with it: Try Listening to your gamers that don't want crap forced down our throats!
