Starbase Featured Project #8
From time to time, special projects will become available for fleets. With these special projects you can unlock new features to give your starbase more crew, more customization, and more recognizable features from Star Trek! Be quick, though – when a special project becomes available, it will only be available for a limited time. You must start the project before the end of the feature. Once you’ve started the project, though, you can keep working on it until it’s finished, even if the special event ends – but remember, you can only work on one special project at a time, so you’ll want to finish quickly to make sure that you can work on the next special feature!
Our next special feature is, “For Relaxation”. While fleet starbases are important hubs for official matters, they are also becoming social centers where Captains can relax and spend free time with fellow fleetmates. During downtime, Federation officers enjoy the peace provided by a fish tank, while Klingons prefer a round of Bloodwine and good storytelling at a bar.
Upon completion of this special project, your starbase’s interior decoration will be improved. Klingons will see the bar area enhanced, including a Bloodwine fountain, while members of Starfleet will acquire a wall-length fish tank. This special project will be available around 10AM PDT on October 18, 2012, until around 10AM PDT on November 1, 2012.

NOt to burst the bubble but 'they' actually use a standard polymer glass as "it would take years" for the company to actually start manufacturing Trans-Al.

Sounds like our Fleet Base Security will need to keep an extra eye on the Caitian Fleetmates... :-P Maybe a new Officer of the Watch Mission is to "count the fish in the tank to see if any are missing..." LOL >^..^< I do look forward to the "Bloodwine Tastings" on our KDF Base.

I hope the next project is one to permanently remove the Tribbles. The guy at the bar can stay, but the tribbles all over the floor must go.

Yeah I agree. If the instance is kept alive, and you clean the tribbles up, they should stay gone for the duration, not every ten minutes. Or at least only come back in the low visibility areas!

why do klinks get a bar we feds like bar's - you can leave the fish tank for the captains room but give the feds a bar

FEDS have a nice bar setup from a previous featured project "All Work and Some Play" - same one gave the KDF the Widescreen TVs in the ops area.

you know,i was always wondering....could you guys back there make us a dominion-breen-vorta-jem hadar (and allies of them) be a playable faction? i really want to play as the breen and the vorta but i cants PLEASE LOOK AT THIS! i really want it as do some other players but please????? atleast do a poll on it

I couldn't agree more. There should be other factions as playable characters. I know I would like to have a Romulan and/or a Jem Hadar character to play as and the ships that go along with them. The Star Trek Universe is a lot bigger than just Federation and Klingon.

I will say one thing, and that is 200000 dil should buy some xotic fish, octupussies, pirhanas sharks etc, not that I expect any of those. Only 2 projects I truly liked was room with a view (Pretty sure that will reapear ^^ ) and Finally a live fireplace. Keep it up Cryptic! For a special featured project in the future, may I please recuest a rollarcoaster on fed side (ok, so it can be a holo room program) and for kdf we really need som orion slavers to clean up our mess, and dance sductivly on the bar ^^ ;)

I think the Orion slave girls were actually thought of by cryptic before you for the Klingons. After all there is a stripper dance floor on the KDF starbase. Why have a stripper dance floor without strippers? ;p

You know, just for all of you that don't like these, there are plenty of people that do, and most of you will do them anyway because your not in a position to say no to these in your fleet. So your point is mooted. Just don't spend dilithium/get fleet credits on it. do something more productive like replicate unreplicateable materials. 8P

not bad but i would like to see more addings in engineering or science depts maybe even admirals office ... how about the ability to change uniforms on station or our ships based on what we are wearing and colors of uniforms based on depts thats six depts and six projects right there now that would be worth it ...but for our small fleets too much grinding with some projects couldnt you sell in c-store something you could call fast packs which would hold certain amounts of items needed for projects yet they would have to be a min of 25 items of one kind not like lock boxes which you only get 4 lobi's in it .....

dancers... actually not a bad idea, well for the klingon side, yet I do not think the fed side has an equal to that. Dancers without the poles mind you, orions, would fit in. Hmmm yet what fits on fed side? Maybe a concerto orchestra in the background?

While I like this idea, there would be a mad push for Table Dancers, and then Lap Dancers - where would it end? I think that this would be out of focus for STO. Each of the Starbases have Holodecks. Now, if there were Holodeck Programs that we could buy with DL - say a club with "Orion Dancing Entertainment" or another program to watch an entire Act of Hamlet, a Blues Club in Louisiana, Captain Proton serial, or simply an arboretum to walk through. I am a "climber" in the game and I would love to have precarious terrain in which to climb for challenging fun to reach certain heights. That could be a fun Holodeck Program too. These are just some ideas... I would prefer a more interactive feature than a purely cosmetic one. Like actually playing the 3D Chess from the Tables and Chairs Featured Project (FED) or actually dipping a cup into the Bloodwine fountain and toasting glory and honor in battle with my fellow Klingon warriors. THAT would be worth 200,000 DL.

And its optional that the dilithium counts 1 for 1 in Fleet Credits. If you deposit all the dilithium for the project, you get 200000 Fleet credits (including any bonuses you have running at the time)

Yeah, you are right, but... how about motion capture... thou i think some animators will have to sacrifice and spend countless hours on site, refining the animations.. making a profound study of the mechanics of pole dancing...
