  some food for thought - being that i have only been at this game since 9/3, i have noticed a few things. in the time i have played i have have bought $120 of $10 perfect world cards via wally world (walmart) and in that time i once got an email for 15%. great idea but the timing really was bad because i had just used the 2 i had just purchased and had no desire to get another 1, 2 or 3 before the short window the offer stood. asked them about any others inteh near future to be told the usual line. an addition, the game drops too many boxes in playing, as of current i have over 160 temporal boxes, not counting 30 some card, 40 some thol, 40 some ferg also. solution - since everyone uses your program, you know who does what, when and where. actually do some usefull data mining and find out who the spenders are and are not and offer better deals to those who are and scaled to better for those who are not. scaling incentives has been used in business for eons, might try it. within the game, on the stfs or hard missions place in keys at the end for as it is coined "critical success". that will obviously steer people to those stfs and missions to get the "critical success". with that being said, nothing steers attention to where one wants it then usefull items being offered. ex when the aztec came out they offered outdoor equipment with it, how did that turn out for sales?? nice idea but not what was usefull to the consumer wanting that type of vehicle. there are several people that play this game that could offer solid to great advise to cryptic on how to better improve this game so it lasts, i would offer that cryptic start looking and pick these peoples brains.   I see what they did there, leaving out the highest zen purchases so you can't get too much with the percentage bonus. sneaky move, cryptic. (and cheap)

  This is so funny. Most people would be happy if they went in to a supermarket and were told that they would get a free 300ml container of milk when you buy a litre of milk. Not STO players. Oh no!! STO players gripe about being offered something extra. Most miserable, useless pack of ingrates I have ever had the extreme displeasure to come across. PWE, thank you for your offer. I have made use of it and I appreciate it.

  Well that different the needs are: I would spend more money if they remove pvp totally from game and the corresponding Pvp-junkies. Would cut off my ignore list by 80%

  Of course to get extra Zen, you have to be able to purchase it first!!! Thanks PWE, I downgraded to Silver and now I can't buy Zen online any longer...way to go!

  *Bleh* i already sit on 11000 Zen and got NOTHING to buy anymore... C-Store has gotten real slow in releasing new direct-buy things since everything lands in stupid Lockboxes by now. Waiting for Vesta... and whatever is next.

  Hmmm... I think you need some help here: If you want to spend the Zen on something you could... 1. Join a fleet and donate it as Dilithium, they would really appreciate it! 2. Open more Lock boxes!... there are plenty of them! 3. Convert it to Dilithium and buy things in game 4. Wait for the next C-Store ship 5. Send it to ME! ;)

  The moments when someone starts to whine and complain when they don't even understand what are they talking about - that's when I feel ashamed to be a Homo Sapiens. The developers NEED the money - what, did you think they get paid with air? That they can feed their families with it? And without money, how could they maintain the servers? You should be happy that (even if for a few days only) you get more ZEN for the same amount of money. However, I do agree that it's a bit overpriced. Dropping the prices a bit would surely increase sales. I myself would have bought several thousands already if it weren't for my mother's paranoia about these methods and the prices.

  funny, they had a steady flow of cash when it was sustained by subs. now if you wanna see new content you have to spend more money. it's called greed. not needs. but hey it's cool. as long as you follow their strict purchasing rules you can get a little extra...right? mistake #1 offering lifetime subscriptions, mistake #2 going F2P/P2W. and as stated above. they wont get another dime from me until the pay more attention to the only aspect of the game that holds my intrest, PvP.

  I would like to complain about all the whiners in the game. I think they all should leave the game with ATARI and never come back. I think its time for us who enjoy the game to come out in force to defend this franchise and keep it afloat. Long live STO!

  Agreed. They whine like petulant little children. Be adults. Vote with your wallet. This seems to be the way Cryptic is guaging what the fans are wanting and I'm very happy with that.

  You do realize that this game needs paying customers right? You telling everyone who doesn't like it to leave, it's going to help support the game. What you should do is come up with some constructive ideas to help bring in more cash flow to support the game you enjoy playing. I personally don't like this whole lockbox thing. I don't like to gamble my money away. I would rather just purchase what I want even if it costs a bit more. I think the problem with the F2P model and store is that once people have everything they want, they stop buying. The developers need to come up with reasons for people to want to subscribe.

  You have a point as most people who complain about things like lock boxes, i really like them, i have no problem spending $100 per month on them. Why? It supports the game and i really like the new stuff. I want to see this continue into the future... without people like me there is no game.

  It's not a matter of people not liking the game. if they didnt like it it wouldnt bother them and they would just leave. it those of us who enjoyed the subscription model that didnt have 100% of new content being purchase only that complian about how it's bein run now. because now the game is filled with 12 year olds who want to fly spaceships with their daddys credit cards as nacelles

  Ok, been on almost since beginning... why complain? Depends on what your b*t*hin about... I still pay every 3 months even tho it went F2P, but I see little 'bonus' for my cash. Yes, slowly increasing content(even tho its not necessarily where ppl want it). MY complaint is I'm already PAYING, so when new stuff comes out I have to pay MORE to enjoy it? It really would be nice if say I'd get one of the new ships as a 'Thank You" for continuing to pay...To all those who can blow $100 monthly on this... send it to me!!!...I could put better use to it! and now... if what I'm hearing about S7 is true... I probably will need to throw MORE cash in if I want to "enjoy" some of the new content because of the up-coming changes to the game monetary system? Yes its nice that every once in a while PWE/Cryptic will offer a 15% bonus, but why not make it worth MY while and offer 20%? Say do it as a special email with code, JUST FOR players like me. Cause for me at least... throwing $20 towards a game... is an expense I REALLY have to consider when I have a FIXED cash flow!

  Hmmm... tempting but I can only do with prepaid cards. You see, call me paranoid, but I don't trust any of those pay systems. I'm certain there is plenty out there who feel the same. As for the game, loving it even with all the flaws, will keep buy a PWE card again soon.

  Hey, whine and complain, celebrate and be happy all you want people, it's not a free world but you are allowed to express yourselves however you like. I have issues with this game sure, but honestly don't have a problem waiting for a bonus sale on Zen, it's my money and its my time to do with as I please... Saying that, thank god I never wasted my time or money on The Old Republic. Hell, I wouldn't even f2p that game when it happens, it felt so static and linear. As long as I can customize my ships, crew and myself in STO, I'll be around. I won't buy Master Keys for boxes but I will sell a bunch when the time comes to people who do.

  Okay. I've had it! I've played this game ALMOST since launch. I am a life-sub. If anyone is going to b*tch, moan and complain about how the $ works since F2P, it should be people like me. But, I don't... and do you wanna know why? Because this game has evolved, grown, and has become something far better than what it was when it launched! I get SO tired of listening to the F2P'ers whining about having to pay for something... It's a damned game! I've spent more on it since F2P than I did when I bought my life-sub. Get yourselves together and get a clue! You are only whining because your free-meal-ticket doesn't include the Prime Rib dinner. You embarass yourselves! I have paid 600 times-over what you have paid to play this game, and I will spend more... because I enjoy it. If you don't, then GET OUT AND STOP YOUR WHINING!

  A Zen sale always seems to take place before a new lockbox or C-Store update so people end up buying Zen, spending it then seeing new stuff come out and thus spend again. I wonder whats planned...

  I'm really sick of all the players who can only WHINE, COMPLAIN and generally being negative about everything Cryptic introduced. I'm not siding with Cryptic or anything but if you hate the game so much, don't play. Besides you guys should thank PWE for buying STO as ATARI was running it to the ground. If Atari still runs this franchise, we all wouldn't have a game right now. So stop your whining, complaining.. be thankful that we're seeing improvements (albeit slowly). Remember that they want to make money too, they won't let you enjoy flying around in your cruiser for free. Not even OBAMA is willing to do that.

  ^^ Agree 100% -- adding Dilithium "tax" to DOFF exchanges when duty officers are such a big part of grinding fleet bases, that is just a money grab in disguise.
