Embassy Featured Project #1

With the launch of Season 7, fleets gained the opportunity to court the colonists of New Romulus by establishing an Embassy outpost. Similar to Fleet Starbases, from time to time, special projects will become available for fleet’s Embassies. Completion of these special projects will unlock new features to give your embassy more customization and added aesthetics that are akin to the surroundings of New Romulus and its people. Be quick, though – when a special project becomes available, it will only be around for a limited time; you must start the project before the end of the feature. Once you’ve started the project, you can keep working on it until it’s finished, even if the special event ends. As with Starbases, you can only work on one special project at a time, so act fast!
Our first special feature is, “Nanov, Nanov.” Nanov are local to the Atali of New Romulus and are considered the mothers of the river. They protect the region and release chemicals that support the growth of plants around the river’s edge. While they’re interesting creatures, there is much more we need to know about the nanov – bringing a few of them to the Embassy for observation will allow for this.
Completing this project will add enhancements to your Fleet Embassy on New Romulus. A nanov vivarium will open up in the Research and Development section of your embassy, along with some infant nanov. This special project will be available around 10AM PDT on November 22, 2012, until around 10AM PDT on December 6, 2012.

Keep checking back to see what’s next on the special project list! We hope you are enjoying Season 7: New Romulus and we’ll see you in-game!

i thought the idea of the embassy is it wouldnt cost as much as the fleet starbase? why arnt these special projects included in that cost? i think 100k would be more then enough rather then the 200k it costs. stop being greedy please.
admiraltirad235
the dilithium disappears or Q steals it
kandon171
I agree, for people who need dilithium for equipment but still want to contribute, 200k is a bit much. Im part of a small fleet and together we barely managed just one of these "special projects" in the time given. I think bringing it down to 100k or maybe even 75k would be nice. I think the fleet and emabssy thing is a great idea but it shouldn't be a chore, it should be an enjoyable addition to the content already in the game.

They need to drop the costs on all limited time projects. i mean really. Since when does an aquarium cost the same amount as a tier 4 and tier 5 ship put together? I can just see that negotiation going down at the pet shop. "Well admiral were doing a special today. For this week only, buy this 500 gallon aquarium complete with fish and decor for the low low cost of one galaxy class starship and one Soverign class starship!!!"
captinjacksparow
Agreed. Embassy projects should be around 100k -- I think that would be fair.

I dont think its the evil Q, I think its the evil tax monster driving up the prices. :P

Seeing it'll probably cost 200K Dil.. No thank you. We, as a fleet decided to leave the complete Embassy unattended. There is only so much a man can do, and you, Cryptic, have clearly overplayed your hand. Asthonishing how you can drive away your own community by making everything a grindfest. Like going to a restaurant that obligates you to bring your own ingredients, plates and drinks; makes you cook your own meal, do the dishes, and STILL HAVE TO TIP THE WAITER for whatever he did. Everysince S7 I find myself logging in on STO lesser by the day. So good job there mates. Currently downloading SWTOR. maybe they will have a better view on what a customer is..
mrchip69
I have to agree with you. The features are just not worth 200k Dil. With the way things are changing for Dil, its seems like my fleet farms more then anything else. The fun is going out of STO. It's a shame really.

good riddance you whiny bitch, and SWOTR ismt F2p

Well said lgxl.

Since Tribble I have been able to hear the aquarium sounds under the stairs in the facility, so its good to have this confirmed.
captainbrady @ Nov 21st, 2012 2:49PM
Good job screwing up the foundry as well jerks!!!!! Now only "approved" super time consuming missions count. You already raised the prices on items that cost no dilithium or minimal dilithium. You nerfed dilithium on other sources such as STF and you took many our sources out. I work all day. I don't need another job. I'm quitting your piece of crap game, and I'm bringing my fleet with me. I hope you end up collecting food stamps when this game crashes and everyone else quits.

Looks very nice Mr Goatshark, somewhere to relax after tagging all the bunnies lol. Good work, will be adding this for sure. And for those moaning, don't buy it then, it's a cosmetic, it's not a P2W console, Jeez!

hfmudd @ Nov 20th, 2012 9:43PM
The problem comes, IMO, with fleet leaders and/or members who seem to think that they HAVE to have EVERY SINGLE COSMETIC OPTION. Even the ones I think are silly, stupid, or both. (If it was up to me, we wouldn't have tribbles, Morn, or other parasites filling up my Fed starbase. But other people select those projects, and throw dilithium at them, even while complaining about it...)
pardusian141 @ Nov 20th, 2012 9:42PM
WHY! are you suggesting we imprison the nanovs?!?! Cryptic...JUST STOP IT WITH THE GOD******* SPECIAL PROJECTS AFTER YOU REMOVED MOST OF OUR DILITHIUM SOURCES!! My dilithium resources are strained as it is saving up to purchase more foundry slots...
mewi @ Nov 20th, 2012 7:03PM
RED ALERT: Warp Core Shutdown in 3 minutes, Captain: WE NEED MORE DILITHIUM CRYSTALS GET ON IT, Engineer: CAPTAIN THERE ISNT ANYMORE, WE ARE OUT. Captain: Uh... activate the distress beacon!

I woulda felt better if they let the KDF hack them with bat'leths but you just can't complain about getting federation content on your KDF toons!
admiraltirad235 @ Nov 20th, 2012 2:56PM
Atali do you mean Atlai Ghoatshark?

I really love Nanovs ^^ Wish our little fleet could afford this. I suppose we could start the project and finish it sometime in March though..
astrorobla @ Nov 20th, 2012 2:26PM
They're such cute critters. But seriously, the forums are getting unreadable. If you don't like paying dilithium for cosmetic enhancements to fleet spaces then don't run the projects. It's so tiring to see the same complaints every day. Some fleets can do this kind of thing and even enjoy the idea of watching our assets grow and improve slowly over the year. But people should realize that they are not entitled to have every piece of content added to a big MMO be exactly the enhancements they personally want to see. It's a big game, find something you enjoy in it.
mattjohnsonva
you're wating your breath. These are practised troll type whiners, they live to complain, they probably have no job and sit on their fat arses living on benefits they hard working tax payers pay. You cannot get through to them unless you use LOL speak and even then their IQ is nowhere near high enough to understand your argument. I am constantly surprised as to why Cryptic allows comments at all on these blogs, it always fills up with the same boring tired old rhetoric from the same boring tired old trolls.

UGUU~~ ^-^
aquitaine985 @ Nov 20th, 2012 1:44PM
Yeah, our fleet isn't doing this, we have a big fleet, and we could afford it, but frankly after the dilithium cuts i'm not even going to entertain this idea.
jadonovan @ Nov 20th, 2012 1:43PM
Proof that many of you here are content to complain instead of read. "WAAAAAA NO FUNCTIONALITY!" Umm, quote taken direct from the blog: "Completing this project will add enhancements to your Fleet Embassy on New Romulus. A nanov vivarium will open up in the Research and Development section of your embassy, along with some infant nanov." Yeah, good try guys. From now on, looking for the good instead of the bad might be more enjoyable.
ocholivis @ Nov 20th, 2012 1:27PM
Looks fun. I really like the little river pigs. And to those complaining... wow. Over a cosmetic. Ever think that just maybe there was too MUCH dil going around and we need a few good dil sinks? Otherwise, they all just go to points, which just inflates the amount you need to get points in the first place, and ruins the dil-zen economy. Taking some dil out of the ecosystem is a good thing. Deal with it.

some of us life time owner or no we dont shit money ...
vinru821 @ Nov 20th, 2012 1:25PM
atleast give us some functionality with these "upgrades". I am afraid though.. have you seen how many empty walls and spaces there are in the embassy! ahhh I can see all the 200k paintings, statues, water fountains, fish tanks and mirrors rolling in!
eurialo @ Nov 20th, 2012 12:49PM
Stop... I do not want this kind of game... This is not STO, this is some kind of farmville, or the sims. I want action, new adventures, some good and funny pvp (what about a war fed vs klingon?), some bugs resolved. Many members of my fleet are tired with this and planning to stop playing STO.
admiralandy @ Nov 20th, 2012 12:49PM
Will it cost 200K?
