hey all. im just coming over to play STO. And some of the reviews I read about this new update makes me wonder if im wasting my time. just please be kind with the reviews and let me know if im wasting my time or should I give it a chance. im asking this because I know a few people who play at work and seem to enjoy it but however these reviews of season 7 with the increase of dith and the drop rate of dith lowered kinda seem pointless dnt cha say?

If you're casual and run only 1 character per faction (I would recommend tactical) then yes it is still worth playing as you will not be needing tons for each character to get most of what you need. Also join a large established and fair fleet, starting one yourself makes the game a massive grind. I was in a small fleet (3-5 people) and that became a massive grind to complete. I joined EDS which are friendly, relaxing, good players who have a large fleet and progressing nicely and have enjoyed the game again.

Season 7 has introduced some nice content. Casual players are screwed as badly as in past seasons. However, the dilithium changes are a load of garbage! I have seen about a 40% drop in daily dilithium earnings. Exacerbatiing that issue is the increased dilithium expenses of...EVERYTHING, it seems. As a result, not only do casual players get burned, but fleets get burned. This issue needs to be addressed. Until it is fixed, I won't be buying C-Store items.

great work on Season 7 STO, ur new rep system is giving me a chance to get the omega stuff. i dont care what people say about it, its bad they sall. i say bull back to them, there is lots of players the old system screwed out of rare dropps and theres more then u think. go to ESD or DS9 and look at the toons, not many have that stuff.
ut2012
Not to many have the stuff because too many people are too lazy to run STF's they just want everything given to them , the new system has ruined the STF's has taken away all incentive for people to do ground missions , when each STF was item specific people had to to the hard as well as the easy now all people want to do is fly around in the nerfed space STF's without having to meet the challenges that the ground presented like real STF'er had to do so fly around get you easy rewards and thank PW for making easy for the truely untalented in this game

me and several other players are pissed about the dil requerment for gen doffs as well i find this a slap in the face i have a fleet leader who puts about 500 us dollars a month in this game for his fleet who is now thinking of quiting because of this and the dil requerments that where changed wish i had his job so i could drop that kind of money but really hope he stays.
fox1616 @ Nov 26th, 2012 1:40PM
I still need too explore season 7 i like New Romulus contend single player and can pick up a 100 RMarks by doing all i'm close to finishing tier 2 hoping to do tier 3 in another week or so. PVE is good lots of marks. wish the other one that give Q marks would have a single player.

I think Season 7 had/has some major flaws, but on the whole it's an improvement, just like every season STO has ever had -- major flaws on the one hand along with major improvements. This season, the biggest flaw to me was a MASSIVE reduction is dilithum earning potential along with a MASSIVE increase in the dilithium spend requirement - it was a really bad call on Cryptic's part, and to be fair they are addressing it.

Where is Tatooine? I've been to every sector but I can't find it...

Well, here is why I will never get anything like this. The new season changes made to the duty officers is crazy. I now must pay 1,000 dilithium for a general recruitment that yeilds only white duty officers. The to reassign 5 of those white duty officers, it will cost me 500 dilithium. green to blue is 2,500 dilithium, and I haven't even looked at what is is to get blue to purple. Thses are just normal duty officers that I', talking about. To buy a pack with real money just isn't going to happen. If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have upgraded everything before the new season. So far this is my biggest complaint about the new season. The duty officer assignemnts is something I didn't expect when I first started playing, but I liked it, and enjoyed it. I'll just go with what I have unit the cost to reassign underperforming duty officers is changed to something at least somewhat reasonable. Until then, I am now looking into just selling all of the white duty officers on the exchange. At least I'll get something out of them by doing that. I tried the Jem'Hadar ship thing once, and only got more white duty officers. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the cost, and therefore I will not be trying my luck with this pack. I would ask that the amount of dilithium that it takes to reassign underperforming duty officers back to what it was prior to season 7. With what I have seen so far, this will most likely not happen, but it's worth asking. Their are some other improvements that I would like to see made in the game, but they have nothing to do with duty officers, and not appropriate for this section in the forums.

To me, season 7 is okay. I do like the repeatable partol missions to obtain romumian marks, however I am looking forward to the improvments to season 7. Also, I would like to see more content for the KDG faction and a option for all players to create your own supership from the ships that the players already have purchased or earned. Keep up the work.
lancerviolator @ Nov 23rd, 2012 5:19PM
I am the Director of Diplomatic Relations for Tactical Operations Fleet Delta. We have found Season 7 challenging
archershran
Lt. Commander of Operations, same fleet. And while some of the new content is challenging, most of it has been interesting.
eskevar @ Nov 23rd, 2012 3:34PM
from mattjohnsonva "most of my fleet seem to be enjoying the content immensly and I have not heard a single complaint from my 350 strong fleet." Interesting... almost all players that i know dont like the season 7 changes... and I talk about people from five different fleets.... Anyway until there's "leave a comment" possibility, every opinion is welcome, yet is that opinion isnt your.

terrible.... simply terrible. Season 7 is the season that destroyed STO
notaredshirt79
You could always not play you know. Tired of people bitching. The game could be perfect and people would still find things to bitch about.
cloudinfinity
I couldn't agree with notaredshirt79 more!

runtimeerrorboy has probably never even played STO, there are people who do nothing but try to ruin other's enjoyment. Season 7 is a magnificent addition to this great game, adding numerous missions, new character progression options and the best new ground map in the game. Of course there were teething issues, for the most part they have been dealt with, and in time the wrinkles will be smoothed out. most of my fleet seem to be enjoying the content immensly and I have not heard a single complaint from my 350 strong fleet.
stardestroyer001
I agree, server disconnects, ability trays playing musical chairs, Vesta class model errors, insta-kills (non-canon btw)...
rahmkota19 @ Nov 22nd, 2012 6:02AM
4th. Just as a question. Will this mean that nobody will ever have a chance to get a Tuffli Class freighter again? Personally I have one and I love it, but I think that more people want one now that I am giving bridge invitations.
