  Wow... A lot of children, who can't spell, hate capitalism (when in reality, Socialism is a child's dream), whine and complain, when Cryptic has given them what we call "gambling" and believe they actually deserve a ship on their first try... YES, sometimes it takes a lot of keys, and that is why the exchange exists... So that people, with lives, and can't game as much, can get stuff for EC, which is NOT HARD to get...

  i would like to say enough with this 15% crap with master keys ... make it 50% and add like a 5 use for one because the rate at which the boxes drop is great, the % at which the ships or thigns one would want is way too low ... so fix it or i will never waste any more money on buying a master key ... in order for people to buy try making it more of a convenience and helpful and not an annoyance ... and sorry for my spelling ..

  Somebody said "dont ruin the Ec economy..." really? the economy is allready all fracked up when you have to pay like a million for a danm purple laser because some ferengi player or whatever decided that the laser should cost that,there shoul be a authority in criptic to ban people that put stuff in the market at supid prices.Dont forget on top of all this perfect world its chinese and the thing chinese like most its money..just like ferengi...i wont buy keys,i refuse,and the stories having to make money..sure...but we are millions playing the game even if just a fraction pays for stuff the chances of winning should be at least 15% not less than 1.Lobi its useless they pay for good stuff but you should have a way to gain it in game even as a rare drop.or for exploring like the ferengi accolade "time is money" latinum in star trek universe makes sense because its part of the tv series but its way underrated and it should be the main curency not just a curency that gives you useless prizes.thae time criptic spends inventing ways to take our money they shpould put inventing new content.for the time the game its on there are too many bugs,glitches and not enough new mission and episodes.a new guy arrives in the game and in less than 2 months he allready is rank 50 with all the episodes complete plus there should be a independent cross faction like marauders or smuglers so that people could have the choice to be independent and buy whatever they wanted there are lots of smaller faction ships in game and we should have acess to them as a player without having to choose a side in the game.there should at least be 3 sfactions in the game ,Fed,Kling. and Privateer

  I've been a member since day one and I say an totally happy with the game. I'm old enough to say that I actually played PONG on my tv as a youth. To have a game such as this is a lifetimes dream come true, especially considering all the bad Trek games there have been over the years. All you whiners and complainers feel free to not play! I think the lock boxes are a waste of time but overall I couldn't be more pleased and my monthly fee is money very well spent! Be grateful for this kicka$$ game and Live Long And Prosper!

  I don't what people are doing, I've been playing STO for months now and have only spent 3 bucks... and I've gotten a tier 5 ship, opened dozens of lockboxes, and unlocked several services like the EC cap. You don't have to spend real money, there's plenty of ways to make Zen without cash. L2P.

  I got 1400 lobi stones ( don't know how many boxes is that ). I always open one type of box, Cardasian. Ship is ugly and nothing special, but....because of weapon ( Spiral beams ) i want that weapon ( if nothing, just for test, soo i can say, i tested all ingame items ). And....nothing....always same crapy item from box ( only 3-4 purple doffs ), in 95% is personal shield ( the fuc.. ?? -___- )....Thank you, but no thanks...i will not open box, ever again.....But, somebody else can try, soo, good luck with that...

  Here's a simple suggestion to people who don't like lock boxes...... Don't fracking buy the damn keys and shut up. Honestly you sound like a 4 year old who's just been told they can't have ice cream. And to all the people who didn't get what they wanted from the boxes, it's a lottery or more simply you are gambling and with gambling sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. So either try again or frack off. Oh and for anyone out there who might be asking. No I've not found a ship in a pack either but you don't hear me complaining.

  totally agree...no one said that you have to go and buy the keys...it's a choice...if you don't want to spend the money then don't...it's not like they r twisting your arm.

  Most of the comments are from bitter morons who expected to buy a key or two and get a ship, thats not the way it works. They sell ships for more than a dollar for a reason, and the lock box should not be expected to drop a ship.

  I really can't believe all the complainig over this again. What part of 'non essential to your gameplay' don't people understand? You can get a nice T5 fleet or Z-Store ship with 100% chance if you don't want to play the lottery. But if you do, it's because you wanted to, so stop complaining about it. You can get most of the stuff for EC on the exchange anyway from people who do like to open them. @sthrnscndrl - Remind me, please, where does it say that you get a D'Kora if you open 50 boxes? Probably if you did your research as a conscius buyer, instead of focusing on trashing Cryptic, you would have found out the chances of getting items from lockbox, as they are clearly stated in the STO Wiki.

  I had to post again...really take a look at how many people are not happy with the lock boxes. It really is astonishing that they can get away with this type of customer satisfaction. Shameful!

  get away with? keep in mind that people that complain on forums usually make up the minority, as happy people have no reason to post about it. Its always bitter 12 year olds who think they should get the rarest items in 1 box. Its called RARE for a reason. So sick of this instant gratification generation and their constant complaining. If you dont want to spend money on the free game, or are too broke to spend money on the free game, take your whinny ass out and get a better paying job, or dont, but stay off the forums whinning like a little girl about lockboxes. And by the way this is in no way a customer satisfaction problem, its a customer retardation problem.

  This was my first time purchasing lock box keys. They run an ad that this is the time to purchase one. Well I wanted a Ferengi D'Kora ship. I burned though FIFTY keys...no ship. Not only did I not get a ship I never received any purple level items or the rare console. FIFTY KEYS!!!!! And nothing but stuff my character already had. I'm honestly about to delete STO off my computer. They don't post specifics for your chances of winning and unless you're hardcore on the forum(stuff I learned in chat after spending my keys) you'd never know you have less than a 1% chance. I understand the need for the game to make money. But to not be upfront is shady. And STO will not get anymore of my time or money. I don't deal with shady mother freakers. *spits

  You are obviously a child and have idea how gambling works, which is what the lockboxes are, gambling. If you wanted a garunteed ship you should have purchased one. But instead you spent $50 on gambling and didnt win. Tell me, next time you go into a casino and spend 10X that, what happens when you complain in the same way to the casino staff, wah wah i gambled and lost and i will never spend money here again, they say "okay see you next week". Its a free game, nobody cares if you didnt win on your retarded gambling spree, and your attempted slander of a company to excuse your mistake is HALARIOUS.

  Best use for lock boxes on the ground or in space,is for target practice.Blowing them up. As for the prizes you get from these boxes,they are useless and rubbish prizes. I won't ever buy those keys again. Total rip off.
