Spotlight on the Foundry

First Cause, Then Effect

The Foundry for Star Trek Online gives players a chance to create and share their very own stories with the world. These Spotlight Missions were designed by members of the Star Trek Online community and are great playable examples of what you, too, can add to the Star Trek Online universe.
This week’s spotlighted mission is "First Cause, Then Effect" by RogueEnterprise.
Faction: Federation
Level Requirement: Any
Mission Summary: A member of the Federation council on board personal transport has failed to report in after a morale boosting visit to the front lines in the Neutral Zone, along with her Starfleet escorts.
While the ship was lost in a rather strange area of space, killing a Federation dignitary would make an excellent trophy for any Klingon warrior…
To play this Foundry mission, log onto a Federation character, open your Mission Journal (J), and click on 'Hail' under the section labeled 'FOUNDRY' in the ''Overview'' tab. You will see that this Foundry mission is spotlighted in that section.

Um, you never explained the time loops. What is going on? Why do you die over and over again?

While I agree he never explained why the time loops were happening, its just like Star Trek where they do not explain everything, they leave some stuff for you to decide.

Hey guys, author here... thanks so much for the nice comments about my mission! Glad it's getting this kind of feedback from forumites. I realize it's not perfect but I tried to do some crazy stuff and I think in general it seems to be going over well. So thanks again!

Thanks for taking the initiative, and for dedicating what must have been a large amount of time spent building this mission. It has most certainly been worth it! :)

I loved it! Great mission story. I do have some constructive critism however. I thought the ground maps were a litte out of scale with the size of the ship from the space maps, since the ship was the size of a cruiser! I thought that maybe you could expand the map a little and move things into seperate sections of the map instead of just the one room, this would make a more believable looking ship interior as well as help with the 'investigation' section of the mission and make it more interesting rather than juat going back and forth in one room, allowing you to expand the mission aswell. Overall 8/10 :)

Well deserved, this was like the first foundry mission that I truly enjoyed story wise, I've played every single one of RogueEnterprise's missions since then.

I did that mission and there were WAY to many shadow walls in the map and I lost target lock on my enemy WAY to many times. Other then that it was fun.
