3-Year Anniversary Event
Star Trek Online is getting ready to celebrate its third anniversary on February 2nd, 2013. To celebrate the occasion, and to thank our players, Q is hosting parties on Earth Spacedock and Qo’noS running from around 10am PST on Thursday, January 31st through around 10am PST on Thursday, February 14th. Talk to Q each day and help him coordinate the guest list for the party and receive a fun prize for your efforts.
Additionally, Starfleet Command has been getting reports about a strange temporal anomaly in the Azure Nebula. Early intelligence has linked this anomaly with Tholian experiments that are using the nebula’s unique properties to gain access to the past. Such a conclusion has been supported by stray subspace signals being intercepted from the area with Starfleet transponder codes dating back to the mid-24th century.
Level 6 Federation Lieutenants can speak with Engineer Kani on Earth Spacedock for the latest information about this situation, and to learn what can be done to help. Those who complete the mission will earn a Support Cruiser Starship – Ambassador Class (Tier 3), as well as a Support Cruiser Retrofit Starship – Ambassador Class (Tier 5) – this Retrofit can only be earned by completing the mission during the three-year anniversary event, and the box that it is contained in can only be opened once a player reaches Rear Admiral rank. Ship stats will be posted in an upcoming Dev Blog.
The Klingon Empire, fearing that the Federation is developing a new weapon based on Tholian technologies, has also launched an inquiry into what is happening in the Azure Nebula. And, not to be outdone, they are rewarding a Battlecruiser Starship – Kamarag Class (Tier 3) along with a Battlecruiser Retrofit Starship – Kamarag Class (Tier 5) – this Retrofit can only be earned by completing the mission during the three-year anniversary event, and the box that it is contained in can only be opened once a player reaches Brigadier General rank. Level 22 KDF Commanders can speak with Engineer Tum'Era on Qo'noS for more information. Ship stats will be posted in an upcoming Dev Blog.

i have the ship but not commander yet, does that mean that if i become commander after the 12th i can still have the ship

Don't get me wrong, Cryptic. I'm not one to typically complain, especially when free toys are involved, but could we please, please, consider account-wide unlock for any new ships/merchandise in the future? I've got 10 characters, 8 of which are Fed. I love the new mission, but after run through number five and beyond even new content gets old fast. Many of my friends and associates have already dubbed the game "Grind Trek Online," and this might alleviate just a bit of that.

I love the mission and easy and fun. But why can't we have it to where we can use the umbilical port from Earth Space Dock and the Fleet Starbase to get to our ships insted of beaming to them? Now that would really get us a Star Trek feel to the game. Maybe you guys can do that for use in season 8 or season 9?

Here is something for you, call it a birthday present if you may. Look at the Sol system and how Laggy it is. look at how many people you have in that starbase alone and when you launch one of your Festive events and birthday it goes from lag central to Lag city overnight. so Here is a little ditty for the makers to ponder over. Open the other starbase next to the sol. I mean the spacedock. Yes you have a space station but hay look over there next to the drydoc's out there in the distance. A great grafic but what's the point to it. Open that to the Ship Rec and all those events that you love so very much so the rest of us whe quite frankly don't care for wasting my time scratching around in a pile of snow / rocks or anyother pile of waste to get a pet scarf or useles item, get on with the actual game. Kinde regards oh yeay Happy birthday.

I noticed a few people wanting the Constellation-class Starship. I think we already have that, it's a Heavy Cruiser and it unlocks at the Commander rank. It is the Engineering ship with four nacelles. I really want to see a proper Norway class in the game, not the lame Oslo knockoff that we get at Commander rank. We got the Steamrunner, now lets get a Norway.

Finally The long awaited Ambassador Class Starship, the warp engines look alittle too big in the pictures I've seen. Speaking of outta proportions any hopes of correcting the supersized interiors of ships? No fed ship in any tv series or movies had 12 ceilings, and engineering is a joke, where's the dilithium chamber? You know the big blue tube where Geoirdi works? Ship interiors, fuctionality, and customizable interiors need addressed. Love the Ambassador Class Ship thxs for that, good work.

Total agreement on last part! Every MMO player game Ive done that I loved had some kind of extensive ability to do Interior decor in whatever kind of dwelling that might be; in the case of STO it is our Ships! Its been 3 years and NO INTERIOR Tailor for ships yet; we should have dozens of wall paper choices; paint choices; carpet choices; and not to mention tons of hooks for paintings and a wide varitey of hangings; Potted plants large to small trees for floor and lights such as chandelers or what ever. All applied within whatever ship interior preset we are using. Id like zebra stripe wall papered bridge with paint thrown on to mak them purple Plus the ability to pipe in our own collected choices of music from with in game. We Need Ship Interior Tailor. Plus one size fits all shuttle bridge is so WRONG! I have a Feregi shuttle and inside same as any other shuttle the list goes on and on here..

Just add a TMP Constitution bridge (properly sized), and you'll have canon bridges for about a dozen or so ships (if you retexture the bridge). The TMP Connie bridge was the basis for among others the Prometheus.

and also put in a customizer where players can modify console slots. E.g. can move a console slot from engineering and add it to tac etc.

The Engines were always almost that big from the side.. its a nice transition ship between the Excel and the Galaxy.. I love this ship with a passion.. Finally my Renown will be complete.
