3-Year Anniversary Event
Star Trek Online is getting ready to celebrate its third anniversary on February 2nd, 2013. To celebrate the occasion, and to thank our players, Q is hosting parties on Earth Spacedock and Qo’noS running from around 10am PST on Thursday, January 31st through around 10am PST on Thursday, February 14th. Talk to Q each day and help him coordinate the guest list for the party and receive a fun prize for your efforts.
Additionally, Starfleet Command has been getting reports about a strange temporal anomaly in the Azure Nebula. Early intelligence has linked this anomaly with Tholian experiments that are using the nebula’s unique properties to gain access to the past. Such a conclusion has been supported by stray subspace signals being intercepted from the area with Starfleet transponder codes dating back to the mid-24th century.
Level 6 Federation Lieutenants can speak with Engineer Kani on Earth Spacedock for the latest information about this situation, and to learn what can be done to help. Those who complete the mission will earn a Support Cruiser Starship – Ambassador Class (Tier 3), as well as a Support Cruiser Retrofit Starship – Ambassador Class (Tier 5) – this Retrofit can only be earned by completing the mission during the three-year anniversary event, and the box that it is contained in can only be opened once a player reaches Rear Admiral rank. Ship stats will be posted in an upcoming Dev Blog.
The Klingon Empire, fearing that the Federation is developing a new weapon based on Tholian technologies, has also launched an inquiry into what is happening in the Azure Nebula. And, not to be outdone, they are rewarding a Battlecruiser Starship – Kamarag Class (Tier 3) along with a Battlecruiser Retrofit Starship – Kamarag Class (Tier 5) – this Retrofit can only be earned by completing the mission during the three-year anniversary event, and the box that it is contained in can only be opened once a player reaches Brigadier General rank. Level 22 KDF Commanders can speak with Engineer Tum'Era on Qo'noS for more information. Ship stats will be posted in an upcoming Dev Blog.

I hope the developers were smart enough to include the Probert variant of Ambassador. I like the Enterprise-C ambassador but Proberts early Design as seen on the golden lounge wall is way cooler. www.neutralzone.de/database/Federation/Starfleet/AmbassadorPrototype.htm

Ah, the ungainly Ambassador. Still not as hideous as that godforsaken Oddyssey abomination, but still, check out the size of those nacelles.

Also, not really trying to complain. Especially if there are indeed two ships. Thanks for running this event, especially when many free players got Breen ships recently. You guys rock for doing stuff like this. Cheers!

I'm sorry. I'm confused. Do you get two ships as a result of this event!? I thought there was only one- it seems like you are telling us the Ambassador class has two different Tiers. I guess I could just wait to see how it works tomorrow, but this blog is confusingly worded I think. Anyone else?

For some of the ships in the game, there are retrofit or refit versions.They are the same ship except with higher hull, unique skin and usually a unique console.

ive only been playing since December but i was a little gutted that the Ambassador Class wasn't available as its one of my favorite ships, now im very happy that its available and cant wait to get my hands on it.

I've been waiting 3 years for this ship. I'm happy now. Devs I only ask you to please add a true Norway class and a New Orleans class ship. These 2 ships are canon ships too.

This is a tad old news seeing that it was leaked months ago / we knew the backstory...but hey...at least after 3 years Cryptic finally put a ship into STO that people wanted. Also...anybody else find it funny how all the STO banners ontop of the forums are now ads for Neverwinter's beta...

Oh also, does anyone know if it's just one mission to earn the ships like last year, or if it's a "you need to do a different mission each day of the event." I'm wondering because I'm going to be very busy the rest of the week.. :/

From what they're saying, it seems to be only one mission, much like how people got the Odyssey last yeat. "Those who complete the mission will earn a Support Cruiser Starship – Ambassador Class"

It's confirmed - the Ambassador has 90000 Hull, 6 forward/6 aft weapon slots and 8 tac console slots ......oh..wait....

Cannot wait, now i can play again, after the launcher crap now allows me too. Thoughts go out to everybody still having issues!! Look after your customers STO and they will keep spending/playing. Love the game, Happy Anniversary to ALL.

yeah. i was hoping that for ships you unlock via quests (namely the original odyssey and this one now) that cryptic would also award you with one ship slot upon completion of the quest. that way that slot can be used for the ship, even if you have bought and filled all purchasable ship slots.

Ambassador class starship has been appeared once in the episode of "Yesterday's Enterprise", I have nostalgia of this ship as well. I really waited for this ship for about 1 years. I want to get! And I think Tier 5, as well as Tier 3 version of this ship is good components!

I think it will be. It says that the refit can only be earned during the event, that implies that the other ship will still be available after it's over.

yes from what I heard on the interview with massively today the mission will be around but you will only be able to get the T3 version of the ship from it you must log on and play the mission during the anniversary event to get the T5 version.

Orrrrrr maybe it's because Cryptic's trying to give the opposite faction a ship too, to include them. Like they did with the Odyssey/Bortasqu' on the 2nd year anniversary. But what do I (or you) know about these things, really...

AHH, the benifits of having 11 toon slots. i can sell the 4 breen ships i didnt open, AND give all ly toons some new toys for their 1st birthdays. It's cute really, my toons are 1-year old and already playing with about 90% of the ships in the C-store in addition to high powered weapons of mass destruction.
